Sydney and Alec were married in an intimate ceremony surrounded by 23 of their closest family and friends at Splendido in Beaver Creek, CO. Everything about their wedding day was so incredibly intentional and so well thought out. Every little detail had some sort of meaning, and they made it really about them. I absolutely loved being able to capture this beautiful moment for these two, and it was such an honor to be one to capture the beginning of their forever. Sydney + Alec, thank you for allowing me to be a part of such an incredible day, and for trusting me to capture your love story! I know that this is just the beginning of a wonderful life for you both!
Finally catching up on blogging, and could not be more excited to share this wedding with you! Dora + Nick were married at the incredible Blanc Denver. If you haven't checked out this venue, you absolutely have to. Not to mention that the bride has impeccable taste, and not one detail was left out of this incredible wedding. It's an absolute JOY for me to get to capture these weddings, and I feel so honored and priveleged to get to be a part of such an important celebration. Congratulations, Dora + Nick! You throw one heck of a party! I'll let the photos tell the rest of the story!
Meet Brittney and AJ. Two of the kindest, most genuine people you'll ever meet. Erik and I have had the privilege of knowing them for quite a while, and it's been such a treat to watch them grow in their relationship from dating high schoolers to now engaged adults! Their love for each other is deep, and it's evident in the way they continually seek to honor one another. Brittney and AJ, thanks so much for the opportunity to be on this journey with you guys. Erik and I could not be more excited for you to begin the brand new road of marriage. We're some of your biggest cheerleaders, and are so glad to be celebrating you both!
Mindy and Brian. I feel like I could say so much about this wedding, but I'll let the photos do most of the talking. Mindy and Brian got married in Mindy's hometown of Flagler, Colorado on the eastern slope of the state, and it was unbelievably beautiful. The love shared between Mindy and Brian is such a gift. Their joy and happiness spreads by just being in their presence, and it was evident in every event of the day. Mindy, you are gentle and gracious, and Brian you are kind and confident. Together you are generous, funny, and SO MUCH FUN. Thank you so much for the opportunity to share in such an intimate day in your lives. I'm so incredibly happy for you, and know that together you two will change the world. Huge and special thanks to Rhema Faith Photography for helping me capture the day!
Meet Stella, 8 days new in these pictures and sweet as they come. New life at it's best in the sweetest and most tender moments, and shared with big sister Londyn. I could go on and on about this beautiful and thoughtful wedding. Just scroll through the images and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. Jaime and Jarrod were married in Lyons, CO at a private residence, and the entire event was pulled off flawlessly with the help of Holly Haakenson Events. And although the event was meticulous and the details were to die for (literally!), it was truly the love and joy that poured throughout the entire day that made this wedding one of the most memorable. Jaime and Jarrod, thank you so much for allowing me to capture such an important moment and celebration for you two. I feel completely honored, and loved getting to celebrate you both on this day. Witnessing your love and commitment to each other in front of your best family and friends was such a privilege, and I am so humbled to have gotten to be part of such an amazing celebration. Your love will carry you so far, and I hope that your photos can serve as a reminder and glimpse back into such an amazing day for your family. Huge and special thanks goes out to all the vendors who helped make this wedding truly incredible (Holly Haakenson Events, Lace & Lilies, Greens Point Catering, Belle Shea Salon, and Little White Dress Shop)
Tasia + Tim are adventurers at heart, and their engagement session was so perfectly them. I'm always thankful when clients bring me to new, beautiful places, and I was stunned at the beauty that surrounded us for Tasia and Tim's e-session. A drive down a 4-wheel road opened up to the most breathtaking yellow leaves you've ever seen. Really, they took your breath away! Congratulations, you two! So glad to have gotten to capture this time for you both!
There’s so much I feel like I want to say about this incredible wedding, but am finding that no words can really do it justice. Carolyn and Jordan are dear friends to Erik and me, and to say that we love these two and are incredibly excited about their marriage is an understatement.Carolyn and Jordan, you are both such amazing people, with the biggest hearts, and it’s evident by the quality people that surround you and love you so much. Your laughter, excitement, and genuine love fill any room that you enter, and to know you is a privelege. Erik and I are so grateful for the friendship we’ve had with you both, and are so excited to support you as you move through marriage. I hope that these photos can be a reminder of what a special and important day August 2nd was and will always be for you guys. This is a wedding that I will treasure being a part of forever, and I really mean it when I say that.
I am so incredibly excited to get to share Collin + Rachel’s beautiful wedding with you! It’s been a true joy to get to watch Collin and Rachel grow in their relationship from dating, to becoming engaged, and now to becoming husband and wife. Collin and I have been friends for over 23 years, and to see him as happy as he is with Rachel is awesome. We always knew that when Collin found his perfect match, that she would be so special, and she is nothing short of that. Their love is selfless, worshipful, and and wholly God centered. They push each other to love the best that they possibly can, and that love pours out to everyone around them. Their wedding day was a testament to who they are and to how they love, and I’ll be forever grateful to have been a part of it. Collin and Rachel, I’m so glad you’ve found each other, and have this lifetime to spend together! Your love is a beautiful, beautiful thing!
Logan and Kara were married on her family's property outside of Castle Rock, Colorado, and truly, it couldn't have been a more perfect day. Not only was the setting one of the most beautiful, but everything from the ceremony to the reception went off perfectly without a hitch. Everything was so perfectly them, and it was the very best. Kara and Logan, thank you SO much for the opportunity to capture your wedding day and inviting me in to be a part of the celebration! Your love, and the love of your family and friends will carry you so far, and I'm so excited for all that is ahead for you both as husband and wife. Congratulations, again!
I’m so excited to finally get to share Ian and Jessica’s wedding with you! I anticipated this wedding for a long time, and it was so worth the wait. When I met with Ian and Jessica last summer, I knew that these two had something really special together; really special. I was so excited about this wedding for a number of reasons, but mostly I was excited to finally see these two get to become husband and wife. Ian and Jessica were married at the gorgeous Della Terra Mountain Chateau, but it was their love that really made that place most beautiful that day. It was a wedding 10 months in planning, and every little thing, down to custom stitching on the inside of the groom’s jacket, was planned perfectly. Congratulations, you two. Your love will carry you so far in this life, and as great as you both are as individuals, you are the much greater together. And a huge, special thanks to Rhema Faith Photography for capturing their story alongside of me!

I am so excited to finally get to share Emily + Nik's wedding with you! When Emily + Nik contacted me shortly after being engaged and we sat down over coffee, I knew that their wedding day would be nothing short of perfect and so full of love. From every single detail, to the location, to the vows, and the people that surrounded them, everything about their day truly was beautiful. Nik + Emily, your love is an awesome thing, and it was so evident in everything about your day. Your love for Jesus and heart for others shined abundantly that day, and I am grateful to have gotten to be a part of it all! Congratulations, you two! (Special thanks to Erin Nicole Photography for shooting alongside of me.)
I knew that when Chayse contacted last year about photographing their May wedding that it would be beautiful, but I really had no idea how beautiful it would be. Chayse + Bobby were married in one of the most touching an incredible weddings I have had the privilege of being a part of. From the beginning it was evident that lots (and lots!) of people really love these two, and their love for others spreads even deeper and wider. Each detail of their event was thought out and served as the perfect setting as these two became husband and wife.Chayse and Bobby, your love is a beautiful thing, and it is such a gift. Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of such a special time in your lives! Meet Steve + Maggie Shafer. Dear friends to Erik and I, and some of the kindest people you will ever meet. If you have the pleasure of meeting them, you will know just what I am talking about. These two were gracious enough to let me capture them as part of some changes that will be coming to Captivated Photography! I'm incredibly excited to share those changes at some point, but for now, enjoy these photos, and the genuine love and joy that flows out of these two. Thank you so much, Steve and Maggie, for letting me capture these photos! PS - the beautiful flowers came from Lace & Lilies!
Ya'll. If there is something I'm INCREDIBLY excited about, and incredibly excited to share, it's this. I got the opportunity to do a mentoring session with Jess Barfield out of Dallas, and I'll be forever grateful. She is a mover and changer in the wedding industry, and to be able to learn from was truly an honor. In just a day she taught me so much, and challenged me in so many awesome ways. Workshops and mentoring sessions have definitely been defining moments for me in my career as a photographer, and I walk away with a renewed sense of why I do what I do. Jess -- Thank you for being so selfless with your time and expertise (even in the midst of moving!) Your willingness and openness to teach and help is touching, and I appreciate you so much. SO much. Your passion for this industry is evident in everything that you do, and I feel honored to have gotten the chance to learn from you. Thank you!I'm so excited to share about some of the BIG, big changes that will be coming to Captivated Photography in the next 6 months, but for now, enjoy a few lovely photos of Shaun + Shannon. PS - Shaun and Shannon are also incredibly talented photographers (Shaun Menary Photography). Enjoy!
Meet Carter. Six days new to this brand new world, and the precious first born to Bryson and Jessie. I got to meet this sweet boy just 6 days after he came to greet this great, big world. I really feel incredibly blessed to get to capture these moments for these brand new families. This time is indescribable as I get to watch parents experience this brand new life for the very first time, and fall in love more than they ever have. My job is rewarding for a number of reasons, but these newborn shoots tend to really touch my heart, and reaffirm that I really have the very best job in the world. Congratulations, Bryson and Jessie! I cannot wait to watch as this sweet one learns and grows!
Meet Maren + Jeff. Maren is also a photographer (incredibly talented I might add) and when she got in touch with me to do some photos for she and Jeff, I was so honored. They celebrated their 10 year anniversary this year, and wanted to document the time. For just one second, time stood still for these two as we captured these moments, and I hope that you get to enjoy a glimpse into their FUN and SWEET love story. Love really is timeless, isn't it? Thank you again, Maren + Jeff, for having me capture this time for you guys. Your love is the kind people search for every single day,and it was so encouraging to witness it!To see more of Maren's work, check out Maren Miller Photography here!
My cousin Kyle, and his beautiful wife Nikki gave birth to their first, most precious baby boy in February. It's incredibly special to be a part of these families as they learn and walk through what it means to have a brand new baby, and even more special when it happens for your family. Saige was just 14 days new at our shoot, and its so evident that he is already loved beyond measure. It really is true that a photograph can speak so much more than words, and I find myself understanding that even more through these sweet photos. Congratulations, Kyle and Nikki!
Meet Nik and Emily (their blog post is long overdue!). I met them at a coffee shop one afternoon this past fall just a week after they got engaged to chat about wedding photography, and knew in an instant that they shared an incredible love. Love for one another, love for God, and love for others. It's a really beautiful relationship that they share, and as you'll see, it poured out into these photos from their session. It's been an honor to get to work with these two, and know that come June, they will be more ready than ever to marry one another. Emily and Nik, thank you for letting me capture this part of your journey. Truly. I feel completely honored and humbled that you would choose me and trust me to tell your story. Enjoy!
